Sandro left at airport as Spurs head for Bremen

Tottenham midfielder Sandro was left at Stansted Airport when the squad flew out to Germany for their Champions League opener against Werder Bremen.

Wilson Palacios that he needed to make his way to the private terminal at the airport ahead of departure. But Sandro has not been named in the club's squad for the Champions League this season so was told he would not be allowed to board the flight.
Sandro, 21, was signed by Spurs in March in a £6.5 million deal from Internacional but he stayed with the Brazilian club to play in their Copa Libertadores campaign - the South American version of the Champions League - which they won with a 5-3 aggregate win against Mexico's Chivas Gudalajara.
There was then confusion about when he would link up with his new team-mates, with manager Harry Redknapp saying: "Have we really signed him - or is he just a myth? 'I've never seen him here. He's supposed to be here ... but not today!
"'I know he's meeting up with the Brazil squad next week to go and train in Spain. I might have to go to Barcelona for three or four days to watch him - maybe I'll take the wife!"

playing in the Champions League, and was hoping to emulate his achievements with Internacional. He said: "It was a fantastic moment to win the Copa Libertadores. Internacional helped me grow as a footballer and a person from a very young age and it was a great achievement to leave on such a high.

The Champions League is the best club competition in the world and I am looking forward to competing at this level. I know Spurs has everything that it takes to go further in the competition and I will do everything I can to help.
